The motto of the congress is "Upwind". Thoracic surgery is in a phase of exciting developments with new technological platforms, a rapid expansion of drug and multimodal therapy options for thoracic oncological diseases, and increasing digitalization throughout medicine. The urgently needed and in the pandemic often too short common exchange of all professional groups involved in patient care, research and education in thoracic surgery should bring "upwind" for all congress participants and offer the opportunity to inform themselves about the latest developments and to actively participate in shaping them. In order to deepen the exchange between the German-speaking thoracic surgical societies, the holding of a joint D-A-CH meeting is planned.

You can expect an exciting program with lectures, symposia, discussions and workshops on current topics in oncological, functional and septic thoracic surgery, on borderline areas of thoracic surgery, on early diagnosis and diagnostics as well as on interdisciplinary and interprofessional networking of thoracic surgery in the digital age of the "Smart Hospital".
