The World Road Association-PIARC was established in 1909. It brings together the road administrations of 121 governments and has members -individuals, companies, authorities and organizations- in over 140 countries.
World Road Association Winter Road Congresses often takes place in the mountains, as in 2014 with the Principality of Andorra, in the middle of the Pyrenees.
