Trade show booth design for energy, environmental and measurement technology
Companies in energy technology, environmental technology and measurement technology are working on solutions to fundamental questions about our future: How can we use energy more efficiently? How can we conserve resources? How can we reduce emissions? At a trade show, these solutions need to be instantly clear – for technical decision-makers and buyers as well as potential technology partners.
That’s exactly what we build your trade show presence around: we combine thoughtful design with precise technical planning, high-quality execution, and a clear focus on your sales objectives. The result is a trade show presence that explains your solutions, builds trust, and creates the right environment for serious project conversations.
What companies in energy, environmental and measurement technology need from their trade show booth partner
Our expertise for your trade show booth
In energy, environmental and measurement technology, it’s not just what you show that matters – it’s how you show it. We combine reliable processes and on-schedule delivery with high-quality implementation of your brand world and booth concepts that help visitors quickly grasp the essence of your solutions. Here are a few examples of how we put these requirements into practice:
Bringing application and solution together
Testo Saveris monitors and records temperature and humidity in refrigerated and freezer display cases in retail. We showcase the solution directly in its real-world use – bringing supermarket atmosphere to your booth with a refrigerated shelf and an actual fridge.

Delivering international trade show campaigns
Soltec regularly appears with large booths at trade shows in Germany, the United States and Brazil. We plan each trade show campaign well in advance, which allows us to reuse many booth elements and significantly reduce costs for our client.

Presenting technology with real impact
For Testo, measurement technology is not just about capturing data precisely – it’s also about consolidating it, documenting it and triggering the right actions when values move outside the defined range. We visualize the data flows between the measuring instruments and the Testo Cloud using colored running lights.

A more than 5-meter-high back wall grabs attention from afar, visitors are welcomed at the counter, applications and exhibits are presented up close, and conversations about potential projects continue in comfortable lounge chairs – this clear funnel turns the Everllence booth into a powerful sales tool.

We bring three strengths together to make your trade show booth a success:
Process reliability: how we make your trade show booth a success
A trade show project not only has to impress visually – above all, it has to run smoothly on the organizational side and be delivered right on time. This is especially true when multiple internal stakeholders are involved and content needs to be approved by specific deadlines. That’s why we rely on a clear, structured process:
Defining objectives and briefing
We clarify the goals, target audiences, key messages, and framework for your trade show presence.
Budget and concept
Based on your budget, we develop a compelling booth design that can be implemented cost‑effectively.
Staged approvals
You approve ideas, design, technical planning, and content step by step – for greater clarity and fewer last‑minute changes.
Clear responsibilities
You work with one dedicated point of contact at Müller Messebau in Freiburg – for clear, efficient communication.
Responsive when it matters
If something unexpected happens, we react quickly – with experience, short decision paths, and well‑prepared alternatives.
A successful trade show presence
Right on time for the opening day, we hand over a booth that explains your technology, builds trust, and creates excitement. The stage is set for your sales team’s conversations.
Our clear, reliable processes are Müller Messebau’s strongest argument. And that’s not just our opinion – it’s what our clients tell us: through repeat projects, series concepts and trade show appearances in new locations, they place their trust in us again and again.
What our clients say
Are we a good fit?
We’re a great fit for companies in the energy, environmental and measurement technology sectors that value:
Reliable project management from initial briefing through to the finished booth.
High-quality execution of their trade show booth.
A compelling presentation of complex, explanation-intensive products.
A consistent, on-brand implementation of their brand identity.
For us, trade show construction is only a small part about building booths – and a much bigger part about building trust. That’s why we’re an especially good fit for companies that don’t see their trade show presence as a box-ticking exercise, but as a sales and trust-building tool in its own right.
We’re a less suitable partner for projects that are decided solely on the lowest price, or where there are no clear responsibilities and no reliable approval processes.
What happens next
Planning a trade show project in energy, environmental, or measurement technology? We'd love to learn more about it. In an initial conversation, we'll work through the key points together:
- Which trade show are you planning to attend?
- What booth size and layout are you considering?
- Which products or applications should be in the spotlight?
- Which target audiences do you want to reach?
- What does your timeline look like?
- Which internal approvals do we need to factor in?
- What budget have you allocated?
Based on this, we assess how we can implement your project in a way that’s both economically sound and conceptually convincing – with a trade show booth that fits your brand, your products, and your goals for the show.
Questions our clients often ask us
The most convincing way to communicate your commitment to environmental protection and resource conservation is not just to talk about it, but to make it visible – in your solutions and in the way your booth is built. With modular booth concepts, reusable components and resource-efficient materials, we develop a design that truly aligns with your sustainability message.
And by the way: a sustainable booth concept isn’t just good for the environment – it’s good for your budget, too. Especially if you exhibit regularly, you can significantly reduce costs over the long term.
Exhibitors in energy, environmental and measurement technology often present complex solutions that developers, project managers and executives perceive very differently. In our experience, it’s not effective to try to explain everything to everyone at once.
What works in practice is a clear hierarchy of information layers: strong long-distance impact through color and overall design for attracting new contacts, clear benefit-focused messaging in visuals and headlines for decision-makers, and detailed technical information for engineers and developers. This way, you meet every visitor at exactly the right level.
Absolutely. Depending on what you want to show and how much you’d like to invest, options include graphics, models, animations or interactive media such as our 3D Holo Wall. With these formats, you can often present even more than with a physical exhibit that has to be transported to the trade show at great effort.
Plus, the digital versions of your solution can continue to be used as sales tools long after the show is over.
In our experience, the biggest challenges arise when the responsible departments aren’t aligned. Marketing typically asks, “How does the booth look?” and focuses on brand, appearance and messaging. Sales, on the other hand, cares more about how the booth works: how to generate leads and how to have convincing conversations. If marketing and sales can’t agree on a direction, approvals are delayed and the entire project slows down.
That’s why it’s important to us to involve both marketing and sales early on and bring them into the planning process together. After all, our goal isn’t just to build a beautiful booth – we want to create a powerful sales tool for your team.
For new, larger booths, you should ideally start planning with us around 9 to 10 months before the trade show. By then, marketing and sales should already have aligned their goals and prepared a joint briefing for the booth concept. For larger repeat booths, a lead time of about 6 months is usually sufficient. Smaller booths can often be realized well with roughly 3 months of preparation.
Please note: we can only begin detailed planning once your booth space has been officially confirmed by the trade show organizer.
We strongly advise against significantly shorter, last-minute preparation times. Time pressure almost always leads to cost pressure – especially when booth elements have to be produced at short notice by external suppliers. With early planning, these additional costs can usually be avoided quite easily.
